Rectory Cottage was built around 1640 and was originally several cottages, probably with animal stabling at its ends and a wash house behind it. Over the years it has evolved into a delightful home with 3 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, a large lounge, dining room, kitchen, conservatory and loo downstairs.
 
At the back of the cottage there is a large patio, a perfect area for enjoying al fresco dining and enjoying the view of the large garden, which consists of an area of lawn surrounded by herbacious borders and a beech hedge on the further side.
 
Behind the beech hedge is a parking area large enough to accommodate 3 cars, 2 sheds and a log store area.
Then there is the annex (known to the owners as The Garden Room) that was once a double garage but has been converted into a large living area with kitchen area/bedroom with a large bathroom and a utility area, and a large storage area above it.
 
Behind the annex is a further garden with a pond and a patio with hot tub. This garden adjoins open farm land.
The drive, from the road to the parking area is bordered by a laurel and hawthorn hedge, on the other side of which is the parish owned land know as The Plaistow.
